Cheek filler

As we age, volume loss in cheeks is common. Using dermal fillers in the cheek area can restore the lost volume and create and a great lift which in turn can help the aesthetics of the lower face. Here at Kent House Dental Clinic we use either Restylane or Juvederm, depending on the goal of treatment and patient preference. We can use either numbing cream or local anaesthetic injections before treatment to minimise discomfort. Procedurally we use either a fine needle or a cannula (blunt tip which is inserted under the skin to minimise bruising).
Nasolabials lines (lines from the corner of the mouth to the nose) can also improve when treating the cheek with dermal filler due to its ‘lifting’ capacity. In some cases nasolabial lines do not actually need to be treated after cheek filler treatment depending on the level of volume loss.

The tear trough area can also be improved by treating the upper cheek area.

Combination filler treatments can work well, and we can give you a full treatment plan based on recommendations.

FAQ

Do fillers hurt?

Modern fillers contain a local anasethetic call lidocaine for a more comfortable treatment. Our carefully designed needles also minimise plan.

How long will my fillers last?

Treatment typically lasts up to 18 months but this will depend on the amount and type of Restylane your practitioner selects. Many people like to have a maintenance treatment before this time to maintain their results.

Should i avoid anything after treatment?

Until signs of inflammation disappear we recommend you avoid exposing the treated area to extreme heat like sunbathing, saunas or steam baths.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects are treatment site reactions like swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness. These usually resolve within a week.

What’s the difference between products?

Drmal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring sugar in the skin that’s responsible for hydration. We have the world’s most diverse range of dermal fillers, which means whatever treatment you’re after, you can work with your clinician to create a bespoke treatment taliored specifically for you

How is treatment administered?

Treatment can either be given via a needle or cannula (a flexible, blunt-ended tube) While needles offer more precision, cannulas reduce the likelihood of bruising and are less painful.
