Covid-19 Patient Attendance Policy
We are open and seeing patients with new protocols and procedures in place for both your safety and ours. We are prioritising patients based on need and will be seeing patients that have outstanding treatment plans opened before lockdown. (Please do not turn up at the practice if you do not have an appointment). We are doing this to reduce the number of patients in the practice at any given time which will help with social distancing and reduce inter patient contact. We are taking a number of steps detailed below:
Infection control has always been a top priority. Our practice follows stringent standards of infection control so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. We are now focusing on new practice protocols in order to operate a safe and efficient dental practice for all our patients, our staff and our wider community following the COVID-19 crisis.
You will note some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We are making these changes and revising our protocols to help protect you, our patients, and our team.
The day before your appointment, we will ask you to fill out an new medical history form and Covid-19 declaration. Both of these are completed and submitted via our website.
Before you arrive at the practice, we will ask you to:
• Thoroughly brush your teeth just before arrival
• Wash your hands for 20 seconds before leaving your home
When at the practice, we will ask you to:
• When you arrive at the practice, the front door will be closed– call to inform us that you have arrived. Remain in your vehicle if coming by car. We will then admit you into the practice when we are ready for you.
• Use hand sanitizer and wear your own face mask or covering
• Allow us to take your temperature and re-screen you
• Rinse with a specific mouthwash.
To ensure a safe environment, we will:
• Install perspex panels at reception
• Clearly mark out seating respecting social distancing
• Manage appointments to allow for social distancing between patients
• Set up a daily health screening checkpoint and log for the screening of all staff entering the workplace
• Equip our dental staff with additional PPE when in surgery
• Decontaminate communal areas regularly throughout the day
• Use video and phone consultations whenever possible
• Remove newspapers and magazines from the waiting room
Emergency Appointments
• We have ceased to operate an emergency drop in service. This means that if you do not have an appointment booked in we may not be able to see you.
• If you need an emergency appointment then please call us to arrange a specific time
Please remember that our resources will be limited and we will be under significant pressure. It may be difficult to give you an appointment when you want but please know that we will be trying our utmost to look after you.
You can telephone the practice on 02087787614.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are implementing to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
